The GIORD Publishing House was founded in August 1993.
At first, it was a division of a namesake company dealing with the production of food ingredients, which determined the subject area of the publishing house's first editions.
Due to an in-house publishing facility, the practitioners of the production company were able to share their inventions and discoveries with the professional community.
The first book to be published was a 45-page brochure entitled "The Use of Food Additives. Practical Recommendations" by L.А. Sarafanova.
Then, such milestones as "Preservatives in the Food Industry" (translated from German) and "The Handbook of a Dairy Industry Technologist" in 3 volumes ("Whole Milk Products", "Cow Butter and Mixed Butter", "Cheeses") appeared.
Today the publishing house is an independent unit that prints books in several subject areas.
The GIORD Publishing House is a member and a cofounder of the Russian Food Ingredient Producers Union.
